Bengali Dum Aloo or aloor dum is one such interesting dish that certainly tastes out of the world.
Aloo Dum or Dum aloo is made in innumerable ways in India.
Be it Kashmiri Dum Aloo, Shahi Mughlai Dum Aloo, Bharwan Banarasi Dum Aloo or Punjabi Dum Aloo, each version is special on its own and is relished by everyone. This can be also be made for any traditional festival and served with Bhoger Khichuri, or Matar Kochuri, Lucchi or Veg. Pulao.
In most Bengali household Bengali Aloor Dum is basically a weekend breakfast in many households. As basically, all the traditional Bengali dishes, and also Bengali Aloor Dum is also made using mustard oil.
This Bengali style dum aloo can also be often found as a Kolkata street food during morning hours for office goes who are on the go.
This can also be eaten by itself with toothpicks as an appetizer for which you can add Puchkawala spice (Puchkawala spice recipe is also given) to add Puchka flavour.
Preparing Kolkata street style Bengali Aloor Dun is an experience by itself.
