Life is just like a train journey

Dear Friends,

Greetings to all.  I am sure you all must have had a very good Diwali with all your near dear ones and had the best of time.  So now you need to take a rest for a while before the year end festivities start and again you are either organising or taking part in it. Well all the best for it all.

Well hope you will agree and wonder how many of us remember our train journeys and the people we met and whether the journey was a memorable one and you still can recall it and be feel good or one which you would not like to even recall it. It all depends.  As it is our Life is like a journey on a train...with its stations...changes of routes...and accidents!  Grateful Makes The Ride Work Better.

At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone….but not quite. As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of our life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Some will move to another car for awhile and come back. Others will go so unnoticed we don't realize they left their seats! This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hurts, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers...requiring that we give the best of ourselves because we are all on this ride together. The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way - love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are, including our seat if necessary. It’s important because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty -- we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life without us.

You commit to treat everyone—regardless of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age—with respect, and without judgment or bias. Then that is when you enjoy your journey.

Well, as I am a frequent traveller, I have experienced meeting people from all walks of life and also some cheerful, some sullen as if they have the world’s burden on their shoulders and some very helpful.

During my last journey, about two days back, it was quite a memorable one, as the people that I travelled with were very cheerful and friendly. We all enjoyed our discussion on practically all different subjects i.e. on judicial judgement, what happens if wrong judgement is pronounced and the danger behind it as one of them was a Judicial Judge (lady), trekking - as one family were lovers of trekking which was their hobby and they again going on one, and an elderly gentleman who was enjoying advising us to use herbs and also the follower of Ma Sharadha and Ramakrishnan and last but not the least myself, of course talking of my experiences too.  Best thing about it all is neither of us asked each other’s name or contact details. We were all laughing and joking and did not feel for a while that our train was much behind schedule.  Anyways, before going our separate ways, we exchanged greetings and wished each other safe journey, as we were all going to take our different routes to our destinations, not knowing whether will we ever meet again.

I wish you a joyful journey for the coming years on your train of life. Reap success, give lots of love and be happy. More importantly, be thankful for the journey! Lastly, I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train!
