Mee Goreng

Mee Goreng means fried noodles in the Malaysian language.

In Malaysia, you can find this noodle dish in the market, or by the roadside. 
They are sold by street vendors or hawkers, especially Indian-Malaysia.  
It is also often sold in school canteens.

You may find it served at parties or sold by street food vendors, 
along with Nasi Lemak and other snacks/kuih.

Indian-style fried yellow noodles are commonly found in Malaysia. 
It’s spicy, savoury, sweet and tangy, with toppings such as fried bean curd, 
boiled potato and squid. It is really delicious.

Mee Goreng is a simple fried noodles dish. In Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, 
you can find a variety of Mee Goreng which simply means fried noodles. 
Mee Goreng is a family favourite that is specifically found among the Malay community. 


Sometimes nicknamed Mee Goreng Kering, which means dried fried noodles, the dish is tossed 
to perfection in savoury and spicy sauces with some vegetables and chicken. 
Although it may not be a gourmet meal, it is a dish you can eat every day. Enjoyed both by kids and adults.

The dish brings back nostalgic school memories. The noodles are always stir-fried with fish cakes or fish balls
 and is usually served with Omelet and sambal Ikan bilis
