Dear Friends,
Good afternoon to all.
I am sure everyone is looking forward to Diwali with all the colourful lightings, rangoli and bursting of crackers and distribution and receiving of sweetmeats.
Oh! By seeing so much of the sweets, does make you feel that do not want to look or eat it for quite a while. This is why you will notice that people have started distributing gift items instead.
But what about us trying to do a good deed by distributing them to the people who would love to have them instead of those who really do not need them. It does not only mean giving them sweets but at the same time doing a good deed. It is not only this, you have various other ways and means and the Power and Benefits of Doing Good Deeds for Other People. There is no time like the present to do something nice for someone.
We do ask ourselves why Should You Do Acts of Kindness? What will I gain by it. Well dear friends, you do not have to do good for your personal benefit. It should be done with a good intention because you will be bringing a smile on someone else’s face and I am sure it will make feel very happy and content.
Whether you call it random acts of kindness, paying it forward, or good deeds, they are very powerful. That is why almost every religion and culture values and rewards the performance of good deeds. There are many benefits to doing good deeds. Some of these benefits may be very obvious to you, while you may not have considered some of the others.
Let me outline for you the many benefits of performing good deeds. I am sure you are already a very generous person. I hope that I can give you even more reasons to do even more good deeds than you currently do.
Help Someone. The smallest good deed is better than the grandest intention. Noble deeds and hot baths are the best cures for depression. Dodie Smith
Besides helping someone, doing a good deed warms your own heart and makes you feel good. If you are unemployed or retired, it gives you something worthwhile to do to pass the time. It is a social activity for those who may feel isolated and alone.
Helping others gives you a new perspective and keeps you from focusing on your own problems. By focusing on someone other than yourself, you are reminded that you are not the only one in the world that has problems. In fact, it is possible that there are many people out there whose problems are much worse than yours.
Kindness Boomerangs. A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love. Saint Basil
